Local Bookshops

71-73 High St, Guildford GU1 3DY, UK – 01483 536366

Just a brilliant book shop with a small café on the first floor. Very helpful staff. Support bookshops and libraries as writing is the single most important invention in the history of the world. It makes man (and woman, other sexes are available) immortal. It stops us having to reinvent everything every time we need it. Without writing, it could easily be argued that we would still be rubbing sticks together in a cave rather than progressing as we have done. Support Waterstones. Buy a book. Enjoy the ambience.

Helpful staff, recommending good read from latest releases. My favourite place and second home.

Good selection of books - many of then are overpriced, but there is the occasional bargain. I usually visit on Sundays. There have been too many occasions when the shop was closed when it should have been open, due to lack of staff.

Books and some kids DVDs. In this charity shop one can find many rare gems (even though pricey) and a lot of really good and cheap books.
