Godd, reasonably priceď gear. Especially useful for children doing Duke of Edinbugh award or guides/scouts outing.
Service with a smile and very good value for money. Good all round.

Timothy the manager was a great help in sorting out my replacement for my boot. After an initial ‘customer service argy bargy’ he took charge in helping replace said boots. He ensured my confidence was restored and I walked away feeling good about my boots and Cotswold. Good for him. He took an annoyed customer, spoke directly to me, agreed a solution and followed through to the end. You have a good manager there. Top talent you should value.
Amazing staff, really helped me out with all my outdoor walking gear. Staff are very professional, with bucket loads of experience and product knowledge. Highly recommended.

Great customer service is rare these days. Richard and his team at Guildford exceeded expectations after an item I ordered to collect arrived damaged. All staff remained polite and professional throughout the process of obtaining a replacement unit (which was not immediately available due to the line being discontinued). Clearly the training and attitude to customer service has improved a lot recently. Well done.
Was in a bit of trouble this evening. We had 20 minutes to get to the shop before closing at 8 and the Sat Nav said it was 18 minutes away. I phoned ahead and the staff stayed open a couple minutes letting me in slightly after 8 and then helped me figure out what I needed. Very helpful and patient in a moment of need

Great Sports shop and great staff. This is the store that Guildford needed, conveniently located right in the middle of the town centre. The store is deceptively large although nowhere as big as some of the out-of-town Decathlons but this is a city store format with all the essentials. Decathlons is renowned for employing staff that specialise in one or two sports and they are usually very helpful and enthusiastic. Please also note that you can select from a wide range of items online and get them delivered the store, and return the items if you don't like them. Some local Sports shop won't be happy but I think there is a place in the market for every store. My only gripe about Decathlon is that they are aiming at mass-market, they used to have fantastic products e.g. in cycling but now 80%+ of their products are geared at the mass market (and priced accordingly). If you are looking for top quality, specialised Sports shops are better.
I like Decathlon having discovered them in France and Italy about 10 years ago. Own brand stuff is generally decent and competitively priced if you are not a brand concious type. If you are buying something more expensive, I would personally pay an extra 20% and see if I could get a more specialised/bigger brand though.
